Each metal piece is hand crafted by one of the three New Mexico metal artisans that we represent. Dale Bradshaw of DLB Concepts of Las Cruces draws his own patterns, then meticulously cuts each piece--no laser saw for him! Most of his items are metal wall hangings, but he does a few pieces of metal home decor, too--including card holders occasionally. DLB Concepts specializes in patterns from Native American or southwestern lore. Mike Slater of Caballo, NM (Sierra County) uses only salvaged, recycled or repurposed metal pieces. Some of the metal he uses has a history to it. For example, horseshoes from Robert "Shoofly" Shufelts make up one of the crosses we have (had?) for sale. The finials and scrolls from another cross are over 150 years old. Slater specializes in crosses and critters, making metal bugs to stick in the yard or a potted plant or to spice up your garden. Jerry Earle is from the Derry/Arrey area of southwestern New Mexico, and creates whimsical metal yard art from mostly salvaged and recycled materials.
